In December of 2021, I was granted an amazing opportunity by my stage management teacher and department chair Robin Harris to work as a production assistant at the 79th World Science Fiction Convention at the OmniShoreham hotel. This was a five day event. While I did not explicitly work the event as a follow spot and camera operator, that ended up being what my duties as a PA required. The cameras we operated during the event were used to livestream out performances such as the Masquerade and Closing Ceremonies. Below are photos from the event as well as an embedded video of my camera work with the Masquerade and Closing Ceremonies. I operated Camera 1 during the Masquerade which shot the podium and Rocks Geek dance performance. I operated Camera 3 during the Closing Ceremonies which was used primarily for moving and detailed zoom shots of the performers.
